Fred Saxon, news anchor, reporter, writer, producer and directorFred Saxon has worked in television, communication, and advertising for 23 years. He is an entertainment news anchor, reporter, writer, producer, director, and announcer.

Saxon began his television career in Atlanta with the ABC-TV affiliate where he was nominated for an Emmy. After relocating to Los Angeles, Fred was selected by Ted Turner to be his Hollywood-based entertainment reporter for CNN. During his time with the network, Fred produced 86 half-hour shows for Turner Broadcasting and CNN. He has interviewed hundreds of Hollywood celebrities in the last 20 years and has developed a relationship with many.

While living in Los Angeles, Saxon appeared as an actor in feature films with Charles Bronson, Don Knotts, Jerry Lewis, and Jon Voight. He has appeared on television in "Dallas", "Mike Hammer", and "Divorce Court". He was selected as a temporary replacement for Regis Philbin when Regis left his local show on KABC. Since Relocating to San Diego, Saxon has appeared on "Dark Skies" for NBC-TV and "Silk Stalkings" for the USA network.

Fred has appeared in national television commercials for TWA and Chevrolet and for nine years was seen daily in a commercial on CNBC. He has appeared in and produced numerous other radio and television commercials including "direct response" commercials and infomercials.

Saxon has also conducted numerous classes and seminars teaching business leaders, professionals, authors, and politicians how to handle the media and get the most out of an interview.

From 1991-2000, Fred Saxon appeared daily on KUSI TV, first on the News at Ten, then on the KUSI Morning News, the top-rated local morning television program in San Diego. As entertainment anchor, he interviewed celebrities, reported news of movies, Hollywood, and the arts.

Fred is currently producing and hosting a 30-minute weekly entertainment program, "CloseUP with Fred Saxon" seen on KPBS-TV in San Diego.

Fred Saxon has been awarded an Emmy for outstanding achievement on television.
